AFL footballer Trent Croad noticed a lack of affordable, quality hair styling products that either himself and his friends could use.

Trent and wife Tanya soon decided to solve the problem and formed the Australian owned company ‘Gear Hair Technology’ with the one product ‘Gear hair pomade’ launched onto the market in August 2005.

The Australian made product received a fantastic response from young males all over Australia who soon became hooked on GEAR.

Following the huge success of their first product, Gear Hair Technology launched 1st Gear Shampoo and 2nd Gear Conditioner in June 2006 to form the GEAR range.

The company has not looked back since then, with not only a large and growing distribution obtained within Australia but also throughout the world.  Gear‘s first stop was Korea where the products were launched onto the market at an official launch at the Grand Hyatt Seoul.

Now in NZ and the UK, the company is on the move.

So where to now? With plans to expand our range further in 2008 and a strong focus on increasing our distribution throughout the world, the company looks like having a very positive future.
